The total investment exceeds 50 million euros and includes the expansion of the continuous press, which will become Spain’s longest board press (44 meters).

Particleboard production restarted late October, reaching about 1000 cubic meters per day. Production that is divided between the domestic market and exports to Europe (Portugal, France, Britain, Italy), Africa (Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria and Egypt), Middle East (Lebanon, Turkey, Iran, Jordan and Israel) and in the near future to America (Mexico, USA, Dominican Republic and Colombia).

A second stage of the plants modernization project will require an additional investment of 40 million euros, for which the multinational company already started civil works. The bulk of this money, about 20 million, will go to the installation of the new kiln, a cylindrical boiler 30 meters long and 8 in diameter that allow to dry 70 tons of recycled wood, a step prior to the pressing process.

The implementation of the dryer will double the plant’s production capacity, exceeding an output of 2,000 cubic meters daily. The process is fully automated, allowing the factory to achieve maximum competitiveness in production, make gains in product quality, optimize costs and positioned this site as the largest production center of Kronospan in Southern Europe.
