TURKEY – Kastamonu Entegre, a global leader in wood-based panels, is enhancing sustainability with substantial investments in renewable energy.
Through initiatives focused on recyclable materials, biobased products, and biomass and solar power, the company targets to generate 273 thousand MWh of energy annually by 2024 across sites in Kastamonu, Balıkesir, Adana, Samsun, and Gebze.
With a EUR 70 million investment—EUR 50 million by end of 2023 and an additional EUR 20 million in 2024—Kastamonu Entegre’s projects will supply electricity for 100 thousand homes yearly and reduce 140 thousand tonnes of carbon emissions annually. By 2026, the company aims to raise its renewable energy investments to EUR 170 million, covering 65% of its energy needs through sustainable practices.
Kastamonu Entegre is recognized globally and domestically for its sustainability efforts, leading initiatives to minimize resource use, enhance waste recycling, and significantly cut carbon emissions across its operations. In Italy, the company achieves 100% manufacturing recycling, while its Adana plant operates with solar power, exemplifying its commitment to sustainable practices and leadership in the wood-based panel industry.
