USA –     Hexion Inc. has sold its manufacturing site in La Grande, Oregon, to long-standing customer Kronospan, marking a strategic move for both companies.

The transaction supports Kronospan’s plans to improve manufacturing efficiency while enabling Hexion to further refine its portfolio and focus on higher-value growth areas.

The facility will continue operating with the same workforce, ensuring continuity for employees and customers. Hexion and Kronospan said they will work closely to ensure a smooth transition and maintain their long-term partnership.

“This divestiture reflects our strategy to focus on differentiated growth markets and redirect resources toward innovation, digital tools and next-generation, AI-enabled manufacturing,” said Michael Lefenfeld, President and CEO of Hexion.

For Kronospan, the acquisition strengthens its North American footprint and supply chain. “With the La Grande chemical plant now part of Kronospan, we broaden our manufacturing base and reinforce our commitment to high-quality products across North America,” said Hans Obermaier, CEO of Kronospan North America.
