COLOMBIA – Invitations are circulating to the grand opening event of the Primadera plant, to be held next March 8.
Located in Gachancipá, municipality in the department of Cundinamarca, about 50 km from Bogota, the plant has a nominal production capacity of 180,000 m3 / year. This would constitute Primadera as the largest MDP producer in Colombia and the manufacturer with the largest particleboard production capacity in the country.
Primadera, a subsidiary of the Sanford Group, required an estimated investment of USD 60 million. Guillermo Ochoa, CEO of the Group, stated to the press, “The nominal capacity will be 180,000 m3: 60,000 m3 of thin board, in thicknesses from 3.0 to 7.0 mm and 120,000 m3 in thick boards; in all formats, from 9.0 to 36 mm. We will manufacture all the possible range of MDP, including raw boards, but we will focus especially on laminated boards with the intent to sell more added value.”
