Gino Lévesque Named CEO of Tafisa Canada

CANADA – The Board of Directors of Tafisa Canada has announced the appointment of Gino Lévesque as the company’s future Chief Executive Officer.

Lévesque will join Tafisa on January 20, 2025, and officially succeed Louis Brassard on March 1, 2025. Brassard, CEO since 2003, will continue with the company as Special Advisor and Board member, focusing on special projects during the transition.

Lévesque brings 35 years of leadership experience across industries including pulp and paper, steel, aluminum, and mining. Currently Senior Vice-President at Kruger Packaging, he oversees sales and operations for the Containerboard and Packaging division. He holds an MBA in Production and Operations Management, an Engineering degree from ÉTS Montréal, and is a graduate of Harvard Business School’s General Management Program.

“We are confident that Mr. Lévesque’s leadership and experience will guide Tafisa Canada through its next phase of growth,” said Miguel Gil Mata, CEO of Sonae Capital Industrials and Tafisa Canada board member.

Tafisa, a subsidiary of Sonae Capital Industrials, is a global leader in sustainable particleboard manufacturing, employing nearly 400 people at its Lac-Mégantic, Quebec plant. The company is renowned for incorporating recovered and recycled wood fibers into its products, serving residential and commercial markets across North America.
