CANADA – Georgia-Pacific, one of North America’s largest structural timber suppliers, has announced a USD 140 million investment to upgrade its Oriented Strand Board (OSB) mill in Englehart, Ontario.

The project includes the installation of a state-of-the-art log processing system and the expansion of its finished goods warehouse. According to the company, the new system will sort, debark, and cut logs into strands for drying, reducing costs and downtime while increasing overall efficiency.

“Georgia-Pacific is focused on the future and committed to exceeding the needs of our customers,” said David Neal, executive vice president of building products. “This investment strengthens our operational capabilities and positions the Englehart mill for greater productivity while our local team continues meeting market demand.” The Englehart mill, which began operations in 1983, is marking its 15th anniversary under Georgia-Pacific ownership.

“This project reflects our commitment to continuous improvement and to reinvesting in the mill, the town of Englehart, surrounding communities, and our valued partners,” added John Beers, president of structural panels. “These enhancements ensure that Englehart remains a competitive, environmentally conscious 21st-century mill.”

Design and engineering work is already underway, with project completion expected by the second quarter of 2027.
