CANADA – Georgia-Pacific has announced a USD 140 million investment in its Englehart, Ontario OSB (Oriented Strand Board) mill. The project will fund a new log processing system and expand the finished-goods warehouse.
The investment marks the facility’s 15th anniversary under Georgia-Pacific ownership—since its first board was produced in 1983. “This investment strengthens our operational capabilities and positions the Englehart mill for greater productivity in the years ahead,” said David Neal, Executive Vice President of Building Products.
John Beers, President of Structural Panels, added that enhancing the log processing system and warehouse demonstrates the company’s commitment to reinvesting in the mill, the town, and its partners—ensuring Englehart remains an environmentally conscious, 21st-century mill.
The log processing system, a critical component in OSB production, handles log sorting, debarking, and strand cutting. Design and engineering are underway, with completion expected by Q2 2027.
