SPAIN – Spanish board manufacturer Finsa is organizing in collaboration with Envisions, a group of Dutch designers, an exhibition based on their production processes and wood products. The exhibition, called ‘Finsa by Envisions’, can be visited from 4 to 9 April at the Atelier Clerici, a space located in the Palazzo Clerici, in the center of Milan.
The exhibition is part of Fuorisalone, which runs in parallel to the Salone del Mobile in Milan 2017 and brings together events linked to the design world that take place around the city and that turn it into a showcase of the latest trends.
A significant group of designers of the Envisions collective take part in the exhibit bringing their unique vision to the Finsa world, due to their different origins and experience. Twelve designers from different disciplines are currently experimenting with Finsa semi-finished products, such as MDF, chipboard or melamine panels, to propose surprising and innovative uses.
The exhibition is, in the words of Sanne Schuurman, “a fresh and open look at the industrial process, looking for new ways of approaching its materials”. A member of Envisions and organizer of the exhibition, she emphasizes, “this year we are not only designers at work, we are also collaborating with the industry, with Finsa, one of the world’s largest manufacturers of manufactured wood”, a company she credits for allowing creative freedom since the project began. ‘Finsa by Envisions’ will offer twelve completely different points of view about the Finsa product, an overview of its materials and possibilities.
