BRAZIL – Eucatex, one of the largest wood panel producers in Brazil, also operating in the segments of paints and varnishes, laminated floors, partitions, and doors, published its results for the 3rd quarter of 2024 (3Q-2024).
In the Furniture Industry and Resale segment, which includes MDP/MDF/THDF panels and fiberboard, revenue grew by 4.0% in 3Q-2024, mainly due to a product mix with higher added value and price increases in some products. For the first nine months of 2024 (9M-2024), there was a 1.3% decrease compared to the same period last year, primarily due to the sale of inventories built up at the end of 2022 and sold in 1Q-2023.
Net revenue from the Export segment grew by 40.7% in 3Q-2024 compared to 3Q-2023. Year-to-date (9M-2024), the increase was 10.6% compared to the same period in 2023.
As a result, the Recurring EBITDA reached BRL 151.3 million, an 8.0% improvement compared to the 3Q-2023 result. For the first nine months of 2024 (9M24), the increase was 1.8% compared to 9M-2023. The Recurring EBITDA Margin in 3Q-2024 reached 19.5%, a decrease of 0.9 percentage points compared to the same period last year. Recurring Net Income in 3Q-2024, excluding the effect of non-recurring expenses and net of tax effects, totaled BRL 51.2 million, a 28.6% decrease compared to 3Q-2023.
The investments made totaled BRL 77.5 million in 3Q-2024 and BRL 232.3 million in 9M-2024, allocated primarily to the maintenance of the Company’s industrial activities and, especially, its forestry operations.
