Egger Plans Major Investment for New Plant in Germany

AUSTRIA – The Egger Group, headquartered in St. Johann in Tirol, Austria, is embarking on significant investment plans for its new plant in Markt Bibart, Germany, which became part of the group in November 2023.

With over EUR 200 million allocated for projects by autumn 2026, the company aims to improve the processing of recycled wood and produce high-quality decorative particleboard, aligning with sustainable practices in the industry.

Construction of the recycled wood processing plant has recently begun and is expected to be operational by summer 2025, with the creation of approximately 50 new jobs at the site. Michael Egger Jr., Head of Sales and Marketing, emphasized the immense potential of the Markt Bibart facility and the commitment to integrating the latest technology.

Future developments include expanded finishing capacities for coated particleboard, which will enhance product offerings, and the implementation of improved storage solutions that prioritize efficiency and safety.

These investments highlight Egger’s commitment to sustainability and responsible resource management, setting a solid foundation for long-term growth and innovation within the company.
