BRAZIL – Duratex S.A., leading Brazilian board manufactrurer, has infomed its shareholders and the market in general that, on December 1st, 2016 its subsidiary Duratex Florestal LTDA. concluded with Fibria Celulose S.A. a “Private Instrument for Sale and Purchase of Forest”, for which Duratex Florestal sold eucalyptus forests, located in the state of São Paulo, in the amount of R$ 74.8 million.
Of the amount of this transaction, approximately 50% will be recognized in 2016 and the remainder from 2017 onwards. Fibria is responsible for timber harvesting and transport costs. This sale of forest is part of the Company’s strategy of adjusting the surplus of forest supply and, therefore, does not compromise the capacity to supply the panel manufacturing operations.
