BRAZIL – Duratex, has been adopting several measures to guarantee the safety and health of its collaborators and others, in order to minimize the impact on their communities and collaborate with the prevention of the coronavirus pandemic.
In addition, the Company, through its Crisis Committee, has sought to optimize its operations and the use of resources in its 19 factories. The activity of the markets in which it operates and its stock and production levels are factors analyzed daily to minimize the impact of the crisis in this current scenario of uncertainty, while fully meeting the demands of its customers.
In consideration of these factors, Duratex opted to temporarily suspend the operations of all wood panel units, maintaining only the shipping of products and the control of inventories. To avoid future downtime, the Company has anticipated the annual maintenance schedule for the period. Forestry operations remain active with a reduced contingent.
In the Deca Division, the operations of the vitreous chinaware unit located in Queimados (RJ) and the electric shower unit located in Aracaju (SE) were temporarily suspended, as already announced on 04/03/2020. The other units, including those of Ceramic Tiles, continue to operate with reduced capacity, in order to meet the necessary measures to maintain the health of its employees and the determinations of the Federal and State Government in the regions where they are located.
Duratex reinforces its commitment to ensuring the safety of its employees, as well as ensuring its financial health in order to be prepared for future challenges.
