Construction start for EGGER plant in USA

U.S. – Construction work has started on Egger’s new wood-based materials plant in Lexington, North Carolina, USA.

810EGGER1 The state-of-the-art particleboard plant with lamination capacities is scheduled to go on stream by the end of 2020. This first project phase involves an investment volume of around EUR 260 million and will create 400 direct jobs within the next six years.

The site will play a decisive role in Egger’s growing presence in the North American market for wood-based materials. Having a local production plant will secure product availability for Egger customers in the region and increase speed of delivery.

In March of this year, the Company already started construction of an administration building in Lexington, NC. Construction work is progressing according to plan, with completion scheduled for spring 2019. There will be space for approximately 80 administrative employees.

In the visitors forum, Egger will present its products and services to customers, interested parties, and other stakeholders. In addition, they are setting up a training center there to train and promote local professionals.

Egger’s goal is to replicate its leading market position in Europe and become the leading brand for wood-based solutions in North America.
