USA – Swiss Krono Group, a leading supplier of wood-based materials, has entered into an agreement to acquire the particleboard and engineered wood siding manufacturing facilities of Collins Pine Company in Klamath Falls, Oregon.
This strategic acquisition enhances Swiss Krono’s presence in North America, complementing its existing operations in Barnwell, South Carolina, and expanding its footprint in the Western United States.
Peter Wijnbergen, CEO of Swiss Krono Group, stated that the move will strengthen the company’s market position and allow continued growth in collaboration with the local workforce, management, customers, and suppliers in Klamath Falls.
Collins’ decision to divest the Oregon facilities aligns with its long-term focus on timberlands management and the production of softwood and hardwood lumber. The company will retain its other business units, which are not affected by the transaction.
Both Swiss Krono and Collins are family-owned companies with deep roots in the wood products industry and a shared commitment to sustainable practices. The deal is subject to regulatory approval and customary closing conditions. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Founded in 1855, Collins owns over 370,000 acres of FSC-certified forestland in California, Oregon, and Pennsylvania, and produces softwood lumber, hardwood lumber, NAF particleboard, and engineered wood siding and trim.
