BRAZIL – Brazil’s Asperbras Group will debut in the ForMóbile trade fair to present its MDF production unit under construction in Agua Clara / MS.
This future line, scheduled to start operation in 2017, will feature German state of the art technology supplied by Siempelkamp and includes a press for the manufacture of laminated MDF.
The unit will be supplied with raw materials from plantations developed by the company and should produce, in its first stage, 220 thousand square meters of MDF. Over time, the capacity will reach 460 thousand square meters as a second line is installed. The production unit will requiere an investment of BRR 300 million and a further BRR 75 million are being invested in the development of the company’s own eucalyptus plantations.
“These equipment and machinery are being prepared and mounted within the highest standards and environmental laws. We are in the development phase of the brand and the company will certainly find something that has a lot to do with this concept,” stated William Alves Jorge, Asperbras Commercial Director.
The Asperbras Group, which operates in various segments such as the PVC industry, agribusiness and construction, is entering the panel business with high expectations. To meet the demand for raw materials of the new MDF plant, Asperbras has also invested in the development of eucalyptus plantations in neighboring regions to the new venture. To meet the demand of the plant, the company believes it will need about 12 thousand hectares of eucalyptus plantations, which are already in development since late 2015.
