MEXICO – Arauco, a global leader in the manufacturing of wood based panels, recently commenced the second phase of construction of its plant in Zitácuaro, Michoacán. The total investment in this new MDF production line amounts to USD 200 million and is expected to generate 3,000 direct and indirect jobs in the region.
“This investment reaffirms Arauco’s long-term vision in Mexico,” said Hernández Ayala. “We are committed to the development of communities and small businesses in the region, as well as environmental stewardship.”
The governor of Michoacán, Alfredo Ramírez Bedolla, congratulated Arauco for this significant investment and noted that it is an example of how economic development can go hand in hand with environmental preservation.
Arauco’s new MDF line is expected to be operational in the second half of 2025.
