Arauco’s Sales Up 30.8% in 1Q-2022

CHILE – Arauco’s sales revenues reached USD 1,761.6 million during the first quarter of 2022 (1Q-2022), a  30.8% increase compared to the 1Q-2021 (USD 1,346.7 million).

983ARAUCO2 Adjusted EBITDA for Q1 reached USD 628.4 million. When compared to the 1Q-2021, there’s an increase of 63.3%.

Arauco’s net income was USD 329.1 million in the 1Q-2022, a 221.4% increase compared to the 1Q-2021 (USD 102.4 million).

In the 1Q-2022 sales revenues in the wood products division were up 32.2% and reached USD 1,019.5 million, compared to USD 771.4 in the 1Q-2021.

Average wood panel sales prices increased 12.4% in the 1Q-2022 , yet sales volume decreased 6.9% when compared to the fourth quarter 2021. Demand continued similar to 4Q-2021 and at high levels. North America has remained stable with its consumption of panels. In Brazil, there was lower demand in panels, specifically in particleboard.

Plywood sales volume increased by 2.3%, and average prices increased by 0.8% in the 1Q-2022. The demand for plywood continued at high levels, which is coupled to supply restrictions to volumes coming from Russia and Belarus, both of which supply Europe and the US.
