ECUADOR – In response to energy challenges in Ecuador, Aglomerados Cotopaxi has implemented an advanced self-generation system that covers 45% of its daily power needs, enhancing operational continuity and sustainability.

In July, the company imported state-of-the-art generators with Scania engines, ensuring critical operations during energy rationing and significantly reducing national electricity consumption. The system complies with ISO 8528 standards for reliable performance.

It features an automatic synchronization panel that switches from the national grid to self-generation during outages. “This investment positions us as a leader in private self-generation in Ecuador,” said Xavier Villarroel, Industrial Manager.

The system also monitors key parameters for safety and reliability, enabling Aglomerados Cotopaxi to maintain productivity while supporting national energy reduction goals.
