ITALY – The periodical survey by Acimall’s studies department shows that in the second quarter 2016 orders increased by 21.2 percent compared to the same period of last year. 

GERMANY – This year took place the 24th Homag & Holzma Treff resulting in the most successful yet. The sales team used the platform of this industry event held in the cities of Schopfloch and Holzbronn in the Black Forest, headquarters of Homag and Holzma to great effect, sealing deals with companies from numerous countries around the world.

THAILAND – Panel Plus, an international producer of wood-based panels and part of the Mitr Phol Group is expanding its production capacity and has purchased its first MDF plant from Dieffenbacher. 

GERMANY – Holzma, a specialist in precision panel cutting, was founded in Gechingen in 1966 by Erwin Jenkner. In 1967 Jenkner, with the help of just two employees, built the first horizontal saw with a saw unit running under the table. 

GERMANY – According to the top European industry associations and data from the main machinery manufacturers, in 2015 global machinery market size for woodworking and woodpanel machinery was estimates at EUR 3.3 billion.

CHINA – China wants to make the leap into the Top 10 of the world’s most intensively automated nations by 2020. By then, its robot density is targeted to rise to 150 units – this being the number of industrial robots per 10,000 employees (2015: 36 units). 

ITALY – The Biesse Group sales for the first six months of 2016 reached  EUR 283.4 million, up by 15.4% compared to the prior-year period (EUR 245.5 million). In the first half of 2016, EBITDA amounted to EUR 30.4 million, growth of 4.8% compared to the same period of 2015.
