GERMANY – Michael Weinig AG, the leading technology provider for the solid wood and panel processing industry and small operations, has complemented its Management Board.

ECUADOR – Ecuadorian imports of wood panel processing machinery reached USD 4.6 million in 2018, up 58.4 percent compared to 2017.

AUSTRIA – With an open house event held from 13 to 16 March, Italian manufacturer of secondary wood processing technologies, SCM, celebrated the inauguration of its new branch in Ansfelden (Linz), Austria.

ITALY – The Biesse Group of Italy, manufacturer of machinery and whose activity is divided into three divisions: Wood, Glass – Stone and Mechatronics, reported preliminary results for the 2018 financial year.

GERMANY – The mechanical and plant engineering company IMA Schelling Group generated sales of € 279 million in 2018 – an increase of six percent over the previous year.

ITALY – As the 2018 financial year came to an end, Biesse Group reported a consolidated sales rise of 7.3% compared to the previous financial year, with gross operating profit (EBITDA) exceeding Euro 92 million.

GERMANY – Preliminary figures show that the Homag Group increased its sales by 6.5 percent to € 1,298 million (2017: € 1,219 million).

ITALY – According to preliminary figures published by Acimall (Italian woodworking machinery and tools manufacturers’ association), in 2018 Italian production of woodworking machinery and tools grew 9.5%.

GERMANY – Siempelkamp, one of the leading systems suppliers for press technology has convinced a new customer in China of its competence. The new client is the wood-based materials manufacturer Jiangsu Hui Dian New Materials Co., LTD, which has commissioned Siempelkamp with the supply of a production plant for OSB.

GERMANY – Important recognition for the new Human Machine Interface (HMI) developed by SCM, as it awaits its official debut at Ligna 2019.

CHINA – In the beginning of February, Siempelkamp, one of the leading system suppliers for press technology, has produced the first board on a new MDF/HDF production line for China’s Yekalon Group.

USA – As part of its corporate strategy, the Altendorf Group is reorganizing its business operations in North America. By opening its North American headquarters in Mooresville, North Carolina, and setting up its own network of distributors, the Group itself will oversee the marketing and sales of its products in the United States from 2019.
