Sodimac Homecenter invests heavily in Colombia

COLOMBIA – Sodimac Homecenter Colombia, a joint venture between Corona Group of Colombia (51%) and Chile’s Falabella Group (49%) plans a 46.7 percent investment increase in 2015 over the previous year, with store openings and remodeling and the implementation of new services, said Wednesday the company manager, Miguel Pardo.

Sodimac opened its first store in Brazil

BRAZIL – On Monday June 1 Sodimac opened its first store in Brazil, located in Tamboré, metropolitan region of Sao Paulo. This is the first store of the Chilean chain Sodimac of the Homecenter Constructor format in Brazilian territory.

Cencosud: Taxes affect profit in 1Q/2015

CHILE – In spite of the increase in operating income and the decrease of non-operating losses in the period, Cencosud obtained a net income decrease of 38.6%, as it reached CLP 22,059.6 million in 1Q/2015, compared to CLP 35,792.7 million of 1Q/2014.

Falabella Group revenues up 13.6% in 2014

CHILE – While it was a year that faced a challenging environment, with slower economic growth in several of the markets where it operates, the Falabella Group reached revenues of USD 12.464 million, an increase of 13.6% over the previous year, due to the balance struck between organic and inorganic growth.

Net income of the Falabella Group up 10% in Q4 2014

CHILE – During the fourth quarter of 2014, consolidated revenues of the Falabella Group amounted to USD 3,705 million, achieving an increase of 13.0% compared to the same quarter of 2013, while accumulated revenues to December 2014, totaled USD 12,464 million growing 13.6% in the period.
