GERMANY- In the 3Q-2023, the German furniture industry saw a turnover decrease of 8.6%, reaching 4.2 billion euros.

SPAIN – The Spanish National Association of Furniture Manufacturers and Exporters (ANIEME) has published the Spanish furniture sector’s foreign trade report for January-September 2023 (9M-2023).

COLOMBIA – The value of Colombian imports of particleboard (PB/MDP) reached USD 102.64 million in the first nine months of 2023 (9M-2023), marking a decrease of 26.6% compared to the same period in 2022 (9M-2022: USD 139.79 million).

AUSTRIA – The Egger Group, one of the largest global wooden panel producers,  is at the forefront of climate protection, committing to achieve Net Zero by 2050.

VIETNAM – In July 2023, Toppan Holdings Inc. and Joyful Co., Ltd., a Vietnamese decorative surfacing materials printer, formalized a capital and business alliance agreement to boost the global development of the decorative surfacing materials business.

ROMANIA – Ingka Investments, part of Ingka Group (owner of more than 370 Ikea stores and 100 planning studios in 31 countries around the globe), has acquired a 300MWp solar PV park in Romania with a total investment exceeding EUR 200 million.

ITALY – The 14th installment of SICAM, hosted in Pordenone from October 17th to October 20th, surpassed expectations with over 650 exhibitors from Italy and 34 foreign countries.

 GERMANY – Leo Lübke is the new President of the Association of the German Furniture Industry (VDM). The general meeting unanimously elected the 59-year-old entrepreneur as the successor to Elmar Duffner.

ITALY – According to the CSIL report “The European market for office furniture“, the office furniture market in Europe continues to resume and is above the pre-pandemic level.

ECUADOR – The total export value for particleboard (PB/MDP) from Ecuador amounted to USD 151,97 million in the January – September period 2023 (9M-2023), marking an 8.8% drop from the previous year’s figure of USD 166,62 million in 9M-2022.

BRAZIL – BRAZIL – The value of Brazilian particleboard (PB/MDP) exports in the first nine months of 2023 (9M-2023) amounted to USD 57.85 million. This figure represented a substantial decline of 38.2% when compared to the USD 93.55 million exported in the same period of the previous year.

PERU – Peruvian imports of wood particleboard (PB/MDP) reached a total value of USD 110.90 million during the period from January to September 2023 (9M-2023), reflecting a 13.1% decrease compared to the same period in 2022 (9M-2022: USD 127.63 million).
