SPAIN – Steelcase Inc. announced it has acquired Viccarbe Habitat, S.L., a Spanish designer of contemporary furniture for high-performance collaborative and social spaces. The acquisition builds on more than 10 years of successful partnership between Viccarbe and Steelcase.

CANADA – Dorel Industries Inc. announces an extensive equipment investment at three of its North American Furniture factories.

SWEDEN – Ikea’s chief financial officer for Turkey Kerim Nisel  has informed Reuters that the Swedish flatpack furniture supplier is to move more of its production to Turkey in response to increased shipping costs and problems with global supply chains.

USA – Steelcase announced on Oct. 4, 2021, that Sara Armbruster has succeeded Jim Keane as president and chief executive officer.

SWEDEN – Bjelin Sweden AB has announced plans to join the click furniture revolution by utilising Välinge Innovation’s Threespine technology in a range of furniture in solid oak.

COLOMBIA – In the period January – July 2021 (7M-2021), Colombia exported wooden furniture for USD 26.34 million, representing a sharp improvement of 57.6 percent compared to the same period last year, when wooden furniture exports reached USD 16.71 million.

USA – Wellborn Cabinet Inc. announced a groundbreaking and expansion of its facilities in Ashland, Alabama.

USA – HNI Corporation announced it is opening a new office furniture manufacturing plant in Saltillo, Mexico.
