Sauder to invest USD 13 million in to supply new IKEA contract

U.S. –  Sauder Woodworking Co., North America’s leading producer of ready-to-assemble (RTA) furniture, was awarded by IKEA a 5 year contract for the production of four furniture families, including bedroom furniture, office, entertainment and children’s storage furniture. The partnership will create at least 150 new jobs and involve an equipment investment of over $13 million by Sauder. Sauder has been a supplier to IKEA since 2007 and currently manufactures kitchen cabinets.

Herman Miller reports growth in 3Q of fiscal year

U.S. – Herman Miller, Inc. reported net sales in the third quarter, which ended Mar. 1, of $455.9 million, an increase of 7.7% from the same quarter last fiscal year. New orders in the third quarter of $464.0 million were 21.4% above the prior year level, reflecting broad-based growth across each of the company’s major business units and geographic regions.

Italy’s Scavolini Kitchens arrive in Colombia

COLOMBIA – During February two new Scavolini showrooms – one in Caribbean city of Barranquilla and the other in the country’s capital, Bogotá – were opened to the public. This marks the arrival of Scavolini in Colombia, a company founded in 1961 in Pesaro, Italy that exports its products to 50 countries worldwide.
