MALAYSIA – Malaysian HeveaBoard, manufacturer of particleboard and modular furniture under the HeveaPac brand, plans investments for the 2016 financial year of MYR 20 million (EUR 4.4 million) for the modernization of its production capacity. 

GERMANY – Business remains healthy at the Alno Group, one of the largest global Kitchen manufacturers, which posted sales and earnings growth once again in the final quarter of 2015 – the fourth in a row. 

GERMANY – In 2015, the German kitchen-furniture manufacturing industry achieved a 7% growth in sales and reached EUR 4.575 million. 

GERMANY – In the 2015 financial year, German kitchen-furniture manufacturer Nobilia-Werke, one of the largest in the world, surpassed the sales mark of €1 billion for the first time, with total revenues of €1,018 billion. 

U.S. – Steelcase Inc., the global leader in the office furniture industry, announced a 12-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with Apex Clean Energy for 25 megawatts of wind power. 

Germany – According to industry news portal EUWID the German Nolte Goup intends to sell the Group’s RTA furniture producer, CS Schmalmöbel. The sales process began in the fourth quarter of 2015. 

U.S. – A new report by Research and Markets, “Home Furniture Market in the U.S. 2016-2020,” predicts that the U.S. home furniture market will grow with a CAGR of 5.8% during the 2016-2020 period.

SWEDEN – In the fourth quarter of 2015, Nobia will report a cost item of SEK 96 million (USD 11.2 million) that is non- recurring, attributable to impairments in Poggenpohl. The cost item is not affecting the cash flow.

GERMANY – 2015 was an extremely successful business year for Häcker Kitchens. The Rödinghausen-based company’s gross sales rose to 466 million euros in 2015 (2014: 406 million euros). In total, 183,000 kitchens were produced by 1,337 employees last year – and sold all over the world.

DENMARK – The prestigious Danish board furniture manufacturer Tvilum has decided to establish production in Poland. The move is a result of the company’s aggressive growth strategy in several new global markets, which has led to an increasing demand for the manufacturers furniture.

BRAZIL – According to the monthly survey from IBGE (Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics), furniture production in November 2015 was down by a significant 22.9% against the same month of 2014. 

U.S. – Sales for the FDMC 300 group of companies grew 7 percent in 2015 to USD 46.4 billion over 2014, according to the publication’s estimate. It was the fourth consecutive year of sales growth for the FDMC 300, a group of the 300 largest cabinet, furniture, millwork, store fixture, office/contract and component producers in North America.
