USA. –  Steelcase President and CEO Jim Keane, announces he will be retiring on January 7, 2022, after 25 years with the company, including more than seven years as CEO.

Herman Miller signs agreement to acquire Knoll

USA – Herman Miller, Inc. and Knoll Inc. announced that they have entered into a definitive agreement under which Herman Miller will acquire Knoll in a cash and stock transaction valued at USD 1.8 billion.

COLOMBIA – In the January – February 2021 period (2M-2021), Colombia exported wooden furniture for USD 7.78  million, which represents a very strong improvement of  55.5 percent compared to the same period of the previous year, when wooden furniture exports reached USD 5.0 million.

USA – Sales of the FDMC 300 wood products companies reached USD 57.8 billion in 2020, a slight increase of 1.25 percent over the previous year.

USA – American Woodmark Corporation, one of the world’s largest cabinet manufacturers, announced results for its third fiscal quarter ended January 31, 2021. Net sales for the third fiscal quarter increased USD 36.2 million, or 9.1%, to USD 432.0 million, compared with the same quarter of the prior fiscal year.

GERMANY- Despite extraordinary challenges as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, Nobilia, the world’s largest manufacturer of kitchen cabinets, returned to growth last year and thus continued its successful course.

GERMANY – In the 2020 financial year, Häcker Kitchens, one of the largest kitchen furniture manufactures in Germany, achieved a sales increase of 4.9% to EUR 646 million (2019: EUR 616 million). With this positive result, the successful development of recent years has continued.

COLOMBIA – In the October – December 2020 period (4Q-2020), Colombia exported wooden furniture for USD 11.85 million, which represents a strong improvement of 31.9 percent compared to the same period of the previous year, when wooden furniture exports reached USD 8.98 million.

GERMANY – With the new label “Furniture Made in Germany”, the number of certified furniture manufacturers is growing steadily. The kitchen manufacturer Ballerina-Küchen from Rödinghausen was the 50th company to receive the RAL award for its furniture programs, which stands for quality furniture from German production.
