REGION – Masisa, through several of its subsidiaries in Latin America, carried out during the month of March the launch of new melamine designs. 

ITALY – More than 343,600 people from 165 countries attended the 56th edition of the Salone del Mobile that took place from April 4 – 9 in Milan. The figures confirm the positive trend evidenced in the Salone del Mobile and the biennial Euroluce and Workplace3.0 pavilions, marking a 10% increase on the 2015 edition, the last time the lighting and workplace biennials were held.

GERMANY – The German Design Award 2017 took place in Frankfurt on the 10th February. The wood-based materials manufacturer Egger received a “Special Mention” in the category “Materials and Surfaces” for the new surface ST76 Matex Rough Matt, and another for the Doppia Black-Gold furniture edge.

ITALY – With just over a month to go until the opening of its 56th edition, the Salone del Mobile.Milano is the sector’s acknowledged showcase for excellence and quality.  

ITALY – Snaidero’s Aria kitchen (Design Pininfarina) has won the 2016 Good Design Award, a prestigious international tribute from the Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture, which singles out outstanding designers and manufacturers who have come up with innovative concepts or original ideas that go beyond normal product and design standards. 

BRAZIL – The judging panel of the 2017 Salão Design Award announced the selection of 130 entrees for the next phase. The finalists are expected to submit their products or life-size prototypes in early May for the winners selection. 

U.K – Better Shelter, IKEA Foundation’s temporary shelter designed for refugees has been named the 2016 Beazley Design of the Year. 

U.S. – IKEA PS (meaning Post Scriptum) is the design statement of IKEA, first launched in 1995, which puts focus on cutting edge modern Scandinavian furniture design without losing sight of what makes IKEA unique – affordable, quality design for the many people. 

GERMANY – The EGGER Decorative Collection has been broadened to cater for an increasingly wide range of applications and styles. The more diverse collection makes it possible to combine different materials, colors, types of wood, and style directions. 

GERMANY – Decolay Real is a brand new product from Schattdecor that makes it possible to create decor-synchronized furniture surfaces with minimal effort. 

U.S. – Pantone, an X-Rite company and the global authority on color and provider of professional color standards for the design industries, announced PANTONE 15-0343 Greenery as the PANTONE® Color of the Year selection for 2017; a fresh and zesty yellow-green shade that evokes the first days of spring when nature’s greens revive, restore and renew. 

SPAIN – On November 23 and 24, Lamigraf presented to the Spanish market its new designs from the 16/18 Collection with the celebration of its first Lamiday.
