BRAZIL – On February 24th the winners of the 2014 Salao Design Awards were announced, distinguishing 14 designers from Latin America with cash prices for R $ 175,000 (approx. USD 75,000) and an exclusive seal to be used by the winners of each category.
GERMANY – After the sought-after ‘Red Dot Award: Communication Design’ and the renowned ‘Innovation Prize of the German Printing Industry’ in 2013, Interprint’s ‘Living in Contrasts’ Décor Book has now also received the ‘iF Communication Design Award 2014’.

U.S. – IKEA is re-launching the original piece of furniture that kick-started the flatpack revolution. The LÖVBACKEN side table, originally sold by IKEA as the LÖVET in 1956, is making a come-back in Europe since August 2013 and now also in the US.
MEXICO – On October 23, Masisa Mexico unveiled its new of designs and product portfolio at the Franz Mayer Museum, under the “Horizons” concept.
U.S. (Notifix).- A new Houzz Kitchen Remodeling Survey demonstrated that open-concept kitchens are trending this year, though homeowners aren’t necessarily looking for increased square footage.
U.K. (Notifix).- DesignJunction is the annual furniture event that takes place in Central London, this year held from 18th – 22nd September 2013.

PORTUGAL (Notifix).- Two new finishes were added to the Proadec offer, Cross and Dual Touch, both available in ABS, thin and thick edging, to complete a range of 37 edgeband embossings.
