BRAZIL- Duratex, wins for the third consecutive year the Transparency Trophy in the category of Companies with Net Revenues of up to BRL 5 billion (USD 1.2 billion).

POLAND – Egger Group is in talks with the European Investment Bank (EIB) regarding financing for the its new particleboard plant already under construction in Biskupiec, Poland.

CHILE – Wood panel manufacturer Masisa, with production operations in Chile and Venezuela, reached in the second quarter of 2018 profits of USD 17.7 million, an increase of USD 12.8 million compared to the same quarter of the previous year or 256.1% growth.

Brazil – Reaffirming its leadership position in the national market, Duratex, Brazil´s largest wooden panel manufacturer, has just received another recognition: the company is among the 1,000 companies that stand out in the national economic scenario, according to the Valor 1000 ranking.

COLOMBIA – During the Expocamacol fair in Medellín Tablemac Duratex presented Carpintex, an APP for carpenters and available for Android and Apple devices that works as a practical and pocket tool.

CHILE – Sales of Arauco, the world’s second largest wood panels manufacturer, reached USD 1,559.3 million during the second quarter of 2018, growth of 21.8% as compared to USD 1,279.9 million in the same quarter of 2017.

BRAZIL – In 2Q-2018, the scenario was marked by various economic and political uncertainties and challenges that affected the performance of the Company’s key indicators.

MEXICO – Tecnotabla, the MDF and value added products operation of Proteak Uno S.A.B. de C.V., reported sales in 2Q-2018 of MXN 273 million (approximately USD 14.2 million), 35% above 2Q-2017 and +30% on sales in 1Q-2018. According to the Company’s analysis, it estimates that it has reached a market share of 24% in Mexico. In 2018 the Mexican MDF market continues to develop, as local production grows stronger against imports.

CANADA – Norbord Inc. reported Adjusted EBITDA of USD 273 million for the second quarter of 2018 versus USD165 million in the second quarter of 2017 and USD170 million in the first quarter of 2018.

BRAZIL – Duratex, Brazil’s leading panel manufacturer, recorded consolidated net revenue of BRL 1.16 billion in the second quarter of 2018, up 27.4% against than the same period of 2017. Adjusted and Recurrent EBITDA totaled BRL 220 million.

GERMANY – The Portuguese-Chilean joint venture Sonae Arauco has ordered a state-of-the-art particleboard plant from Dieffenbacher for its Beeskow site in Brandenburg, Germany.

ECUADOR – Novopan del Ecuador, the leading producer of medium density particleboard (MDP) in the Andean region, will increase its production capacity in Quito, as informed by Dieffenbacher, chosen to carry out the order. Data on investment value, capacity or start date was not made available.
