USA – When construction is completed in the 3Q-2019, CalPlant I will be the world’s first commercial-scale producer of rice straw-based medium density fiberboard (MDF), annually supplying approximately 140 million square feet of no-added-formaldehyde MDF to the building products industry.

CHILE – On January 29 Masisa informed the Commission for the Financial Market (CMF) of Chile that its Board of Directors accepted the resignation of its Corporate General Manager, Roberto Salas Guzmán with effect March 31st, who resigned alluding to personal reasons.
MEXICO – Arauco’s acquisition of Masisa’s forestry assets in Mexico announced in December 2017 and finalized in January this year – after being modified – includes the purchase of two industrial complexes located in Durango and Zitácuaro at a price of USD 160 million.
CANADA – Norbord Inc. reported Adjusted EBITDA of USD 724 million for the full-year 2018 compared to USD 672 million in 2017 on higher realized North American oriented strand board (OSB) prices and shipment volumes, as well as higher European panel prices.
