USA – Arauco, one of the largest global wood panel manufacturers, announced it will close its medium density fiberboard (MDF) production facility in Bennettsville, South Carolina on May 18.

CHILE – Masisa, the Chilean wooden panel manufacturer, reported consolidated sales revenue in 2019 was USD 402.0 million, a decrease of USD 210.4 million over 2018 sales.

CANADA – Norbord Inc., a leading global manufacturer of wood-based panels and the world’s largest producer of oriented strand board (OSB) announced that effective March 30, it will commence reducing production across its portfolio of North American oriented strand board (OSB) mills in response to the demand impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

CHILE – After a process of almost a year Masisa S.A. announced last Friday, March 20, the agreement for the sale of its forests in Chile.

MEXICO – Proteak, the largest forestry company in Mexico reported that sales of its MDF and Teak businesses reached MXN 284MM in the fourth quarter of 2019 (4Q19), excluding other income and revaluation of plantations, this result is 9% lower against 4Q18.

CHILE – Arauco, one of the largest forestry companies in the world, reported revenues of USD 1,202.3 million in the fourth quarter, a decrease of 13.3 percent when compared to the third quarter, and a 12.9 percent decrease compared to the same period in 2018.
