BRAZIL – Eucatex one of Brazil’s largest producers of wood panels, which also operates in the paints and varnishes, laminate flooring and doors segments, announced its results for the second quarter of 2021 (2Q-2021).

The increase in sales of Dexco’s (formerly Duratex) Deca and Ceramic Tiles Divisions combined with the maintenance of high levels of demand in the Wood Division and the capture of price increases announced in all divisions, boosted sales in the second quarter of 2021 to a total of BRL 1,974.1 million, an increase of 88.7% compared to the same period in 2020 and 11.7% compared to 1Q-2021.

GERMANY – Over the next five years, the Swiss Krono Group will invest up to 300 million euros in plant expansion at its site in Heiligengrabe, Germany.

CHINA –  On May 29th, Shandong Huan Ge Decoration Co., the Chinese manufacturer of MDF panels produced the first board on a Siempelkamp line for ultra-thin MDF with a 9′ x 28.8m ContiRoll press.

BRAZIL – Construction materials manufacturer Duratex, owner of traditional brands such as Deca, Hydra, Portinari and Durafloor, announced an investment plan of BRL 2.5 billion (USD 488 million) for the period 2021 to 2025, aiming to expand its production capacity for wood panels, ceramic tiles and sanitary ware.

INDIA – Merino Industries Ltd., one of India’s largest laminates manufacturers, has ordered a particleboard line from German machine and plant manufacturer Dieffenbacher.

USA  – Roseburg Forest Products will expand its operations in the southeastern United States with the construction of a high-capacity lumber mill in the town of Weldon, N.C. Gov. Roy Cooper announced the project July 1 at a joint news conference with officials representing Roseburg, the state of North Carolina, Halifax County and the Town of Weldon.

Huber to build new OSB plant in Minnesota

USA  – Leading specialty building products manufacturer Huber Engineered Woods LLC (HEW), a subsidiary of J.M. Huber Corporation, announced that it will build a new oriented strand board (OSB) plant in Cohasset, MN.

BRAZIL – Duratex informed its shareholders and the market in general that, on June 24, 2021, it created a Corporate Venture Capital (“CVC”) fund for investments in start-ups and scale-ups, in multiple stages, with a first contribution of BRL 100.0 million (USD 20 million).

BRAZIL – With 70 years of history, Eucatex is recognized as one of the largest producers of MDF, MDP and laminated flooring in the country, in addition to offering several other products from Eucalyptus.
