TURKEY – The Turkish wood-based panel producer, Kastamonu Entegre, placed an order to Siempelkamp for an 8′ x 63.7 m MDF wood-based panel plant with ContiRoll. This makes it the longest of the 32 ContiRolls and the longest continuous press on the Turkish market.
ECUADOR – Ecuadorian exports of Particleboard/MDP (PB / MDP) reached USD 19.62 million in September 2021, a growth of 65.1 percent compared to the same month last year (USD 14.46 million).
SPAIN – The Austrian company Kronospan, the world’s largest manufacturer of wood panels, has announced that it will invest 180 million euros in a new factory in the Catalunya Sud industrial estate in Tortosa, which will create around 185 direct jobs and some 1,500 indirect jobs.
BRAZIL – On October 29th, a short-cycle press line made by Siempelkamp produced its first board at Dexco’s Agudos location.
BRAZIL – Eucatex, one of the largest manufacturers of Wooden panels in Brazil, with operations also in the paint, varnish, laminated flooring, partitions and doors segments, announces its results for the 3rd quarter of 2021 (3Q-2021).
CHILE – Arauco’s sales revenues reached USD 1,705.1 million during the third quarter of 2021 (3Q-2021), 41.7% increase compared to the third quarter of 2020 (3Q-2021: USD 1,202.9).

CHILE – Masisa, a Chile-based producer and marketer of wood products, reported its third consecutive quarter with a positive bottom-line result, reaching a profit of USD 18.8 million as of September 2021, in contrast to the loss of USD 74.8 recorded in the same period of the previous year.
MEXICO – Proteak, Mexico’s largest forestry company, reported results for the third quarter of 2021 (3Q-2021).
FRANCE – Unilin Group announced the planned acquisition of the French Panneaux de Corrèze. The acquisition is part of Unilin Group’s strategic growth ambition and enables its Unilin Panels division to better serve the French market.
West Fraser to Acquire OSB Mill from Georgia Pacific
USA – West Fraser Timber Co. Ltd. announced that it has entered into an agreement to acquire Georgia Pacific’s oriented strand board (“OSB”) mill near Allendale, South Carolina for approximately USD 280 million.
BRAZIL – Dexco (formerly Duratex) reported Net Sales Revenue for the third quarter of 2021 of BRL 2,177.1 million, an increase of 22.4% over the same period in 2020.
