CabinetWorks to Close Two Manufacturing Plants

USA – Cabinetworks Group, the largest privately owned cabinet maker in the U.S., recently announced the closure of its manufacturing facilities in Marshall and Jefferson, Texas.

1093CABINETWORKSThis strategic move aims to optimize their multi-family manufacturing network by consolidating operations into more modern and efficient plants among their remaining 16 facilities.

The decision responds to evolving customer needs, enhances operational efficiencies, and prepares for anticipated changes in multi-family construction activity.

CEO Jeff Jackson emphasized the company’s commitment to agility in serving their customers amidst market volatility. The closures, affecting over 350 employees, are scheduled for September 13, 2024.

Cabinetworks Group is providing affected workers with support including severance packages and assistance with job placement.

Cabinetworks Group employs more than 7,000 people in 24 locations, including the Marshall and Jefferson and 16 other manufacturing facilities. Its 18 brands include KraftMaid, Medallion and Merillat. Sales in 2023 were in the order of USD 2 billion.
