SPAIN – On October 27, Garnica, the renowned premium quality plywood manufacturer from La Rioja, informed the market that since October 10th, Christian Michel has assumed the management of the company as the new CEO.
On the other hand, Guillermo Hernanz, takes up the position of Director of New Industrial Projects and the current Executive President, Pedro Garnica, now presides over the Board of Directors.
With an extensive background in business management and management both in Spain and internationally, the new Managing Director of Garnica is an industrial engineer from the University of Stuttgart, with an MBA from the University of Rotterdam and AMP from INSEAD. Throughout his career he has worked, among other positions, as a consultant at The Boston Consulting Group, Director of the International Division at Campofrío, and General Director for the Eurasia region at URSA, where he was subsequently named CEO of the company.
Michel will be responsible for leading the expansion process of Garnica, which currently exports 93% of its production to more than 40 countries on five continents, from its six production sites in Logroño (La Rioja), Garnica Baños del Rio Tobía I (La Rioja), Garnica Baños del Rio Tobía II (La Rioja), Garnica Fuenmayor (La Rioja), Garnica Valencia de Don Juan (León) and Garnica France (Samazan).
The current CEO, Pedro Garnica, has pointed out that the company is facing a new era that presents itself as an opportunity for growth, with new projects, new investors and has assured all that from his new position leading the Board of Directors he will continue “with his head on the business and aware of everything.”
