German BMK Group Acquires Melamine Processing Assets from Shaw Industries

U.S.- BMK Americas LLC, a subsidiary of DKB Décor Inc., informed that it has acquired a melamine film manufacturing facility from Shaw Industries. The purchase of the plant located in Lexington, NC will better serve the needs of North American customers in the thermally fused laminate industry.

BMK MelamineThe acquisition of the melamine treatment facility is in line with DKB’s strategy to obtain new market share by producing specialty decorative papers with shorter lead times. “Our acquisition of this plant complements our overall offering so we can now provide multiple products and services to the laminate industry. This investment represents an important strategic opportunity to offer new product options and technology,” said Moritz Menier, President of DKB Décor Inc.

The BMK/DKB Group together form the world’s largest full service melamine treating company with its now 15 impregnation lines in operation.
