Duratex Expands Portfolio with the Acquisition of Ceus

BRAZIL – Duratex announced the signing of a contract for the acquisition of 100% of the shares of Ceusa, one of Brazil’s leading ceramic tile manufacturers , for RBR 280 million (USD 89 million).

Duratex, with headquarters in Sao Paulo, is a regional leader in the production of wood panels, laminate floors and sanitary ware and metals. The acquisition of Ceusa, a manufacturer of ceramic floor and wall coverings, is part of Duratex’s strategy to expand its product portfolio, with synergies in the integration of industrial operations. “The acquisition of Ceusa accelerates the expansion of a complete offering of solutions for consumers in the construction materials segment”, said the company’s President, Antonio Joaquim de Oliveira.

With the incorporation of the ceramic coatings company, Duratex will have an expanded portfolio, under the brands Durafloor (laminate and LVT floors), Ceusa (ceramic tiles), Deca (sanitary metals), Hydra (products for water heating) and Duratex (wood panels).
