FIMAR Rewards the Best Exponents of Argentine Furniture Design

ARGENTINA – The 12th edition of the International Furniture Fair (FIMAR) held in Buenos Aires from August 23 to 26, recognized the sector’s trend setters and their products, for their outstanding design, creativity and innovation.

Distinctions were given to the highest exponents of the Salon del Mueble Argentino (SMA) exhibit. Here designers were recognized for their originality, practicality, combination of materials, aesthetics and usability, among other values.

In this context, a prestigious jury awarded the “Víctor Bentolila” award to the best product of the SMA Exhibit to the night table, Puente Line, from the Casa Capital studio (Córdoba) by Sol Giraudo, Gastón Luna and Lucas Utrera. A special mentions to SMA Quality was given to the children’s art set by Erika Bucholc from Gusanito Kids (Buenos Aires). The SMA Innovation award went to the Josefina floor lamp, creation of Tablot Wright and Patricio Sartori of the Amable Studio (Córdoba).

The “Ernesto Humeler” award for the best product of the show was for the Nidia bed of Dadone (Colazo, Córdoba). The “Ernesto Humeler” award was also presented to the Best Stand at the fair and went to the Mussa-Limansky Company of Rafaela, Santa Fé.

The jury was composed of Sebastián Ackerman, director of the consultancy Ackompany; Eduardo Fernando Naso, Professor of Industrial Design at the National Universities of Buenos Aires and La Plata; Roberto Miguel Fontenla, President in Fontenla S.A, CEMA (Chamber of Wood and Related Businessmen) and E & D Group; José Luis Esperón, a professor at the University of Palermo and FADU-UBA and Paolo Bergomi, Owner of Bergomi SCA and Bergomi Group.
