BRAZIL – 100 per cent of the effluents generated at the company’s panels factory in Rio Grande do Sul are recycled and sent to a water treatment station, avoiding the use of natural resources in the MDP production process.

Constantly investing in improving the efficiency of its treatment plants, so that most of the effluents generated by its activities can be reused in its own production processes, is a commitment of Duratex.

In 2017, the company implemented a new effluent treatment project at the Taquari plant in Rio Grande do Sul, which enables 100% of the waste generated at the mill to be treated and reused in the plant itself for the production process of MDP panels.

“With this project, we stopped capturing river water from the city for our activities and, in addition, we treat all the effluents generated at the plant, without discarding them in the environment,” explains Dauto de Souza Lemos, unit manager.
