GERMANY – The German Design Award 2017 took place in Frankfurt on the 10th February. The wood-based materials manufacturer Egger received a “Special Mention” in the category “Materials and Surfaces” for the new surface ST76 Matex Rough Matt, and another for the Doppia Black-Gold furniture edge.

The German Design Award is the international premium prize of the German Design Council. Its objective is to discover, present and honor unique design trends. The 2017 edition received 4,000 submissions.

The Award grants “Special Mentions” to works whose design includes outstanding aspects or solutions – an award that honors the commitment of companies and designers.

“Every award won by our products is a recognition of our technical investments as well as of our focus on trend and innovation,” says Klaus Monhoff, Head of Design and Decor Management for the Egger Group, celebrating at the Frankfurt event.

The new surface ST76 Matex Rough Matt is Egger’s answer to the demand for a matt-stone combination. The F8982 Doppia Black-Gold furniture edge is made of a high-quality and stable thermoplastic material (acrylic). This edge is particularly well suited for upscale interior design, on furniture fronts, table tops, kitchen and bathroom furniture.
