GERMANY – Exhibitors at interzum 2017 can now enter their innovations for the interzum award: intelligent material & design 2017. The design competition is organized by Koelnmesse in collaboration with Red Dot for what is now the ninth time. 

Companies from the furniture supplier industry are invited to see how their products measure up against their international competitors. The deadline for entries is March 3rd 2017.

The best designs will be chosen by an international jury of experts and presented in a special exhibition at the trade fair. In addition, an online exhibition will showcase the winning products well after interzum 2017 closes. There will be four categories for entries for the interzum award: the jury is looking for the best designs in the categories “Materials and Surfaces”, “Fittings, Glass and Lighting”, “Upholstered Furniture Manufacture and Bedding”, and the new category “Mobile Spaces”.

The international expert jury includes Italian architect and designer Dr. Luisa Bocchietto,; Martin Darbyshire, founder and CEO of the London design consultancy tangerine; and Dutch designer Dick Spierenburg. Prof. Dipl.-Ing Martin Stosch joins them on the panel, Lecturer on the Wood Engineering program at Ostwestfalen-Lippe University of Applied Sciences, and Professor Peter Zec, Initiator and CEO of the Red Dot Awards. The awards will be presented to the winners at the interzum Party on 15 May 2017. The awards ceremony will also mark the opening of interzum 2017.
