The aim is to meet the needs of the furniture, lighting and decoration sector that again shows growth in both the export and the domestic markets, and that demands a specialized trade fair like Habitat. As such Habitat Valencia has positioned itself as the Spanish internationalization platform with emphasis on the contract furniture.

The change has enlisted the support of related associations in the sector as the National Association of Furniture Exporters of Spain (ANIEME) and of the lighting sector, FEDAI. Their respective presidents, Juan Carlos Muñoz and Donelio del Campo, explained that “Habitat around September marks the return to natural time. Back to basics is positive in the current context of the furniture sector “. Both entrepreneurs admit that “the sectors are demanding a change of dates to September” and, in this regard, “a large group of furniture manufacturers oriented to mass distribution and the retail channel demanded this change.”

The new September date will also increase the participation in Habitat of domestic buyers, explained the new director of Habitat, Daniel Marco, “the last three editions in February have allowed us to strengthen our position in the contract segment of and grow in our internationalization. Now, it is time to also grow in the domestic market and among Spanish buyers. The furniture sector in Spain is recovering and Habitat wants to grow with it”.
