Campus Arauco is the result of a strategic alliance between Arauco and Duoc UC to create actual alternatives for technical professional training, based on a program that combines practice and education, and furthers the ability to learn in trades that are related to the area’s production activities.

“Since the foundation stone ceremony, exactly eleven months ago, Campus Arauco has become a signature project that has been creating a lot of expectations in the province, because of its contribution to high quality education and its commitment to the development of young people, but mainly because of its social purpose which transforms education into a true social driver”, said Rodrigo Viveros, Campus Arauco’s director.

ARAUCO’s Public Affairs assistant manager, Mauricio Leiva, highlighted that “this is a unique initiative in the province which has an offer that currently does not exist in the area, and will educate first rate technicians. Through this project, which is today a reality, we are contributing with a solution to social needs, while enhancing the company’s competitiveness”.

Campus Arauco combines higher technical professional education with hands-on practice, with the future implementation of the German program Dual Training, which will begin in 2017. This successful education system allows students to learn in classrooms as well as in Arauco’s industrial facilities and those of its service-providing businesses.

The campus also includes a Training Center that will offer programs for workers of the company and its supplying businesses, providing continuous education, career development and labor market extension.

The building’s 2,500 square meters were built on three hectares of land, on the Carampangue – Arauco road. Its high standard infrastructure features noble, renewable materials, such as wood, and is integrated with its surroundings, offering students a unique place that matches the quality education.
