The opening required an investment of $ 32 million and is part of the expansion of the company for the coming years. “We want to use the crisis to grow. At this time is when there are good opportunities for land acquisition, to negotiate long term rentals at good prices,” said Dimitrios Markakis, president of Construdecor, which operates the Sodimac brand in Brazil, to the online edition of the daily Folha de Sao Paulo.

Sodimac entered Brazil in 2013 by acquiring the chain of home improvement stores Dicico which had 56 stores in the state of Sao Paulo. Sodimac expects to open two or three more stores in the next two years under the format Homecenter Constructor, all located in the metropolitan region of Sao Paulo.
