With a total investment of $ 8.5 million Arauco Campus is the result of a partnership between Duoc UC and the company Arauco. It is the first major project of Dual Training in Chile with its proven “on the job” education system that allow students to learn both in classrooms and in Arauco’s industrial facilities and service companies, taking advantage of the practical learning opportunities than this model offers.

The training center will have room for 650 students and will feature technical careers such as Industrial Electricity and Automation, Electromechanical Maintenance, Risk Prevention and Management, all of high employability and responsive to the needs of Chile and the region. The 2,500 square meters building, built on an area of 3 hectares, will have a high infrastructure standard that will favor the use of noble and renewable materials like wood, and its integration with the environment, providing students with quality education.

The Dean of Duoc UC, Ricardo Paredes, the Mayor of the Bío Bío Region, Rodrigo Diaz, Arauco’s Corporate Affairs Manager, Charles Kimber, and the Mayor of the city of Arauco, Mauricio Alarcon, led the start of construction ceremony of Campus Arauco, which will open in 2016.
