GERMANY – German furniture industry associations will organize a business development trip to the United States from May 11 to 15, 2026, targeting small and medium-sized German furniture companies seeking to expand in the world’s second-largest furniture market.
The delegation will be organized by the German-American Chambers of Commerce in Chicago and New York on behalf of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy and funded under the foreign market development program. The initiative is being carried out in cooperation with the Association of the German Furniture Industry.
The United States is the tenth-largest export market for the German furniture industry and its most important market outside Europe. Despite ongoing tariff challenges, the industry sees strong growth potential in North America, according to Jan Kurth, managing director of the German Furniture Industry Associations.
The program includes meetings with experts from architecture, design, project development and retail, as well as visits to showrooms, trade fairs and selected projects in Chicago and New York. Participants will have opportunities to present their brands and products within key industry networks.
The trip is open to manufacturers of residential, office, contract and design furniture, as well as suppliers and service providers in hotel furnishings, interior design and planning.
