DENMARK – Sustainability remains central to Tvilum’s corporate strategy as one of the world’s leading manufacturers of ready-to-assemble (RTA) furniture. The company continues to strengthen its commitment to reducing environmental impact while delivering sustainable solutions for modern living.
Tvilum sources all wood used in its production from certified forests under FSC™ or PEFC standards, ensuring that raw materials are sustainably and legally harvested. The company has adopted this approach for years, reflecting its view that sustainability is a long-term industrial responsibility rather than a short-term trend.
In parallel, Tvilum has implemented ongoing measures to reduce waste and emissions. Through continuous optimization of production processes, the company minimizes material waste and has invested in energy-efficient technologies to significantly lower CO₂ emissions across its manufacturing facilities.
A key element of Tvilum’s environmental strategy is its recycling program, through which approximately 98% of production waste—including wood, paper and plastic—is recycled. This initiative supports circular economy principles and reduces the amount of waste sent to landfill.
Tvilum has also expanded the use of eco-friendly materials, including water-based adhesives and coatings with reduced chemical content, contributing to safer working environments and healthier indoor spaces for end users.
Looking ahead, the company confirms that sustainability will remain a strategic priority, with continued focus on durable product design, further emission reductions and responsible manufacturing practices.
Tvilum, headquartered in Denmark with manufacturing facilities in Denmark and Poland, is one of the world’s leading producers of ready-to-assemble furniture. The company manufactures and distributes approximately five million pieces of furniture each year, serving customers across global markets.
