USA –   Pantone has announced Cloud Dancer (PANTONE 11-4201) as its Color of the Year for 2026.

The company describes it as “a lofty white that serves as a symbol of calming influence in a society rediscovering the value of quiet reflection.” The shade reflects both simplicity and versatility, representing a color that can feel almost colorless or, paradoxically, a reflection of all colors.

Since 1999, Pantone has chosen an annual color intended to capture the mood, cultural trends, and aspirations of the year ahead. The Color of the Year influences everything from Pantone-branded merchandise and advertising campaigns to collaborations with artists and global brands.

For 2026, Cloud Dancer will appear on a wide range of consumer products, including Motorola smartphones, Command strips, Post-it Notes, Joybird furniture, and even Play-Doh. While these items may appear predominantly white, the choice of Cloud Dancer is meant to convey a deeper societal desire for calm, reflection, and a blank canvas for creativity.

Laurie Pressman, vice president of the Pantone Color Institute, noted that the shade “reflects what people are looking for” in today’s fast-paced world, emphasizing mindfulness, simplicity, and the restorative power of quiet spaces.
