USA – Siempelkamp hosted its North American “Service & Technology Symposium” in Marietta from November 5–7, bringing together plant operators and service specialists to share updates, identify customer needs and strengthen long-standing partnerships.
The event gathered 45 representatives from 12 companies, with sessions led by Siempelkamp’s Marietta team and service experts from Germany. According to Dr. Stephan Niggeschmidt, CEO of Siempelkamp’s Service Business Unit, the symposium plays a key role in keeping customers informed about innovations while enabling direct dialogue to better tailor service offerings.
Presentations covered new solutions for plant modifications and modernizations, including upgrades for the ContiRoll continuous press, innovations in wood recycling and mat forming, and updates from the company’s innovation lab, which provides customers with ongoing access to modernization information across the production chain.
A session on Prod-IQ·SmartPress demonstrated how digital tools can optimize plant performance through real-time monitoring and data-driven decision-making.
Local leaders Dirk Koltze and Ulises Freire outlined Siempelkamp’s operations in Marietta and Charlotte and plans to expand services for North American customers.
Workshops encouraged discussion on research priorities, service expectations and future technology needs in the wood-based panel industry. Feedback from participants was highly positive. “The symposium gave us valuable insights into how we can support our customers even more effectively in the future,” Niggeschmidt said.
