GERMANY – Dieffenbacher’s newly developed FiberXtractor steam vessel has been awarded second place in the “Circular Economy and Prevention of Environmental Pollution” category at the Baden-Württemberg Environmental Technology Awards, held on November 11, 2025, in Fellbach.
The award, established by the state’s Ministry of the Environment, Climate and Energy, recognizes technologies that significantly support environmental protection and resource conservation. State Secretary for the Environment Dr. Andre Baumann presented the accolade.
The FiberXtractor is the core of Dieffenbacher’s Fiber2Fiber recycling process, which enables wood-based panel manufacturers to use recycled fibers at industrial scale without compromising quality—reducing dependence on fresh wood.
“Fiberboards were typically used thermally at the end of their lifecycle,” said Michael Rupp, head of Dieffenbacher’s Recycling Business Unit. “Fiber2Fiber allows us to reintroduce fibers into production without quality loss, creating a true circular solution.”
CEO Christian Dieffenbacher said the recognition validates the company’s long-term work in fiberboard recycling, calling the solution “unparalleled in the industry.”
